Just had a discussion this morning about this topic. There are many reasons the iPhone is so successful but one is inevitably that you have to type or key in significantly less text than on other phones. It's becoming even more obvious when using apps like Qype's new Radar. This is an extremely useful tool when out and about with the iPhone. It automatically locates you (using integrated GPS in the iPhone) and gives you suggestions for places around you (using a data connection). Be it a restaurant, a hairdresser or a supermarket you're looking for, it's all two or three clicks away. That's it!!! How much easier is this than what we have become used to on many other devices? People will get spoiled by this. Touch may not be the end-all for mobile devices but if you're offering a service to mobile users, you better make sure you don't expect them to click too many times to use your product! iPhone will change user expectations in this regard whether you like it or not.
